Not drinkable as a protein shake. Sime as that! You simply cannot mask the strong pea flavour. Perhaps it will get used in food at so.e point to try not to waste it.. not git for purpose
The texture was like drinking sand and I tried three or four different recipes for smoothies and nothing could mask the taste or texture. What is worse, I tried to contact MyProtein to return products and they have not responded for two weeks. 300g of green peas and a 100g of chick peas carries enough protein for vegans for a meal so you don't have to buy this product. Do yourself a favour and make a curry. I've ordered a lot of MyProtein products and they've really let me know on this most recent purchase. Goes Well With:Sand
I bought this on a vegan streak having watched What The Health on Netflix. Its a decent enough product qualitywise etc, absolutely no doubts there. It mixes better than other vegan protein (brown rice) though I've not tried the hemp or soy yet. Its got a bit of vegetably taste and I bought several new Flavdrops flavours to try with it. To be honest these tend not to completely mask the taste and with the slight chalkiness I'm not sure if I'd use it as a shake again. It is, however, great to add to stews, soups, curries etc as a protein boost and that's probably how I'll use it going forward.Goes Well With:stews, soups
Vile. Smells like fish food. Tastes like evil. Its chalky and unbearable to drink. Only found that an excessive amount of blackcurrent and a small amount of water makes it a little easier to drink. I do not recommendGoes Well With:Nothing really
This is best protein powder for vegans, no artificial flavors just pure form of pea isolate, great economic price and must for all...thank you myprotein
I am a huge fan of MyProtein products and have been a loyal customer for many years. I made the switch to Vegan Protein in an attempt to cut dairy from my diet. The texture, smell and taste of this product is unbearable. I tried mixing it with everything and anything i could think of. Nothing got close masking the thick chalky texture and stale smell. My search for a palatable Vegan Protein Powder continues.... any recommendations welcome Goes Well With:Absolutely Nothing
Product is very good end effective. Four outside UK u guys must change the shipping method. I had to chasethe shipper to get my goods.
I bought pea protein as an alternative supplement since I became vegan but I certainly did not prepare for how bad it would taste. I've had a few unpleasant ones and some excellent tasting supplements in my time, but this is by far the worst tasting thing I have ever tried. It froths up like bear and leaves a layer at the top of the supplement when it does eventually settle. I found myself psyching myself up just to take it, it shouldn't be like that. Needless to say, I've still got almost the entire lot which I don't intend to drink Think you've missed the mark work this one.Goes Well With:Not much
Nice tradeoff between kcal and protein. Mixes very well, has neutral tasteGoes Well With:Any juice
I bought this for a change and because whey protein bloats me sometimes. I'e tried it twice so far mixed in smoothies and all i can taste is peas!! Goes Well With:Fish and Chips?
Works well, mixes well everything nice Except the taste horrible, some people might like it but me personally when i feel the creamy consistency and pea smell and texture in my mouth im on the edge of vomiting. I just use more water to the shakes so its more liquidy but i can still smell the pea, i dont think i can buy it 3rd time unless i find some way to make some good shake from it Goes Well With:A lot water, some juice orange/apple or anything else just tiny bit and meanwhile drinking it chew banana to take off the pea taste
Good Protein. Mixes well and tastes good with Flavour Drops. The pouch is durable and easy to seal. A good alternative for whey proteinGoes Well With:Flavdrops
I have tried vegan blend (which I loved) & some gross Bulk flavoured proteins (which I couldn't stand) before, and I have to say that this pea protein is the best in terms of value for money and taste. I just blend it up with banana and water to make a thick, creamy protein shake (kinda like a yoghurt). The taste is probably a little strange (it's not sweet), but it mixes pretty well if you have a banana or other ingredient, and has a nice texture. It's good with almond milk, but I wouldn't have it with just water. It's also really good in baked goods. For the cost, it's effective and good quality. This is 100% my go-to now. Would recommend.Goes Well With:Banana, almond milk, cookie/bar recipes.
Do you know how rabbit food smells like? That is exactly how this tastes. Mixes OK though if you let it sit in the water for a good 30 mins before consumption. The price is pretty good though, and if you are able to drink it, you get a good value.Goes Well With:water & a strong stomach
So I have to be honest, I have a good tolerance to flavour, but this protein shake is probably the worst thing I've ever tasted, it's definitely stomach-able, and the more I've been using it the easier it is to drink, but it does taste bad, there is no escaping that fact. I tried mixing it with honey, milk, bananas, mango, anything to change the taste, but in the end I found it easiest to just deal with the natural flavour, mixing it makes all kinds of crazy weird tangs. All that being said, this is the price you pay for being vegan and to be honest it's very minimal, just drink it up and picture a jolly farm filled with happy animals.Goes Well With:Water, and then just follow it up with something you enjoy.
Disgusting, and doesn't mix well at all! Tried cooking with it, mixing half and half with flavoured protein powder, adding coffee to a shake but it ruined the lot. Cheap and decent nutritional values. But def do not recommend Goes Well With:F**k all
pea protein is excellent option if whey creates bloating or stomach issues but i must tell you it tastes horrible you just have gulp it as fast as you can do it :)
I have tried all the vegan protein powder here and i have to say that this is my favourite in that it tastes alot better than the other ones and alot cheaper too. The only problem is i find it a bit salty but nonetheless it is a great protein powder and i will buy again.Goes Well With:Water, almond milk, soy milk, frozen fruits
Best Vegan protein on the market, yes i agree it taste horrible if just taken with water but mix it with anything and you hardly taste it. no gas no bad stomach just a great product, been using it for 3 years now.Goes Well With:blueberries, strawberries, bananas, dates, oat milk.
Good quality stuff, makes you full ideal before workout when you don't want to eat heavy before but don't want to be empty working out. However the taste.... i tried at first alone 200ml water and 30 grams scoop of it. Nope the pea protein makes it really thick creamy and tastes like peas smells like peas, you need to add more water. For now im drinking it with 1 banana, 1 scoop of cocao, 1 scoop of maca powder, and bit cinnamon, but even then you still feel the pea taste so i add a bit cranberry juice. But each sip is on the edge of throwing up, horrible taste for me but if you love pea taste then it will be perfect for you. Goes Well With:1 banana, 1 scoop of cocao, 1 scoop of maca powder, and bit cinnamon + a bit of cranberry juice
