It's the taste that doesn't matter

I tried it plain when it first arrived. Just the powder and some water. I still regret it... But I didn't buy it for the taste, so I'm still giving it 5 stars overall. I got recently diagnosed with intolerance for dairy and egg whites, so I needed something to help me with the sudden drop in my protein intake. I also actually wanted something that I can combine with different smoothies and gruel and other recipes, without having to taste the weird flavoring that all protein powders have. It mixes well, and it doesn't have the rough sand-like consistency that rice protein tends to have. I mixed it with my morning coffee this morning, and there's a slight aftertaste, but it's quite mild, and it doesn't leave that fake chocolate/fruit/whatever-it's-supposed-to-be flavor in my mouth for hours.
Goes Well With:
Anything, just don't drink it plain!

Not bad

I use this now instead of Whey Isolate, as I am cutting out diary. *Vegan vibes here* I have only used it in pancakes and smoothie bowls, with lots of other flavours. It smells weird and I know I would not like to drink it with only water. It is a good product, very high in protein and a great addition to pancakes, smoothies and smoothie bowls. It does not ruin the taste of the pancakes/smoothies at all.

It tastes bland - so what

If you want it as a drink with water - well, yes it tastes bland - but so what - just shake it and neck it.
Goes Well With:
flaxeed powder, cacao powder, ground chia

Used to hate it but now...

I left a one star review before because I couldn't stand the taste. I since started taking it by mixing up a pint of LIdl's concentrated blackcurrant & apple cordial (sugar free) and pouring most of that on top of a a scoop full of the powder in my mixing bottle. It's not actually pleasant, but it's not undrinkable. I just neck it down and I'm making gains so yeah = it does the job. If you want a nice drink try something else. If you want a cheap, vegan protein supplement this'll do.
Goes Well With:
Sugar free Blackcurrant & Apple squash.

hard to mix

I have it because pea is a great source of protein but the taste was horrible. Now I'm used to it so it's fine, but it's still difficult to mix.

Terrible taste

I feel kind of bad giving this a two star rating. It does what it says on the tin, it's Pea protein, packaged well and mixes fine. Good protein content as well. I found the taste unbearable. No matter what I'm mixing it with, the dusty taste comes through. The search goes on for a decent tasting non-whey protein.

Disgusting & unbearable

Foul smell and even worse taste. Would not recommend and should have listened to other reviews saying this. Bought the unflavoured hoping cacao powder or sweetners would disguise it- wrong, nothing can get rid of this taste.

tastes of dust

This tastes of brick dust. I find that adding two sweetner tablets (aspartame) makes it taste slightly better. But it still tastes of dust. I'm sure it works, but I MUCH prefer the Whey Vanilla taste.

Read this before buying!

I’ve been using whey protein regularly and decided to try pea protein because I’ve heard it’s easier to digest. I switched to unflavoured whey because I didn’t like the sickly sweet taste i find most of the sweeteners give, so I thought I’d go for unflavoured pea protein too. This was a mistake! Whereas unflavoured whey doesn’t taste of anything, pea protein still definitely has a taste. It’s like a weird nutty, savoury.. well.. pea.. taste. I mixed it with chocolate powder to try and mask the taste and it tasted weird still. So it’s definitely not a powder for mixing into drinks, it has a distinct savoury taste. I did find that it blended okay and didn’t go frothy like whey protein can, I use almond milk so it had quite a good consistency. You might be able to get past the taste if you down it, but I can’t, so it’s a wasted buy for me.

Not sure...

Good results

Cheap and importantly Gas free ,I have had really good results with this Protein , Whey really doesn't agree with me or anybody I'm near when using it so I had to find an alternative and have found it in Pea protein . Tried using it in a straight Soy milk protein shake to begin with but ...Yikes that is horrible , I mean gagging horrible ,thought I had wasted my money until I tried mixing it and really enjoy it now ,2 ripe Bananas ,1 cup of oats , 1 cup of soy milk ,2 eggs ,2 scoops of protein and blend until smooth , two servings , once it's been in the the fridge for a while it sets and I eat with a spoon , actually look forward to eating it now .
