Protein snacks are simply delicious snacks that are rich in protein (and fibre too usually!). We here at Myprotein stock a range of bars, cookies, sweet treats and even crisps that are all high in protein and can help you achieve your goals!

What are good protein snacks before bed?

Literally any! It depends on how the rest of your diet looks that day but generally speaking protein snacks are great because they'll offer a steady stream of amino acids to your repairing muscles during the night whilst you sleep whilst scratching any last thing at night cravings you may have!

Healthy protein snacks are ones that help you achieve your goals. You should be on the lookout for products that are packed full vitamins and minerals, provide some fibre and are rich in high-quality proteins (either whey, milk or vegan sources).

What are protein-rich snacks?

Protein-rich snacks are those that provide at least 20% of the total calorie content from a protein source. For most bars, for example, the norm for total calorie content is around 250kcals. 20% of that is 50kcals and a gram of protein is around 4kcals. This means the bar would be considered rich in protein if it provided around 10 - 11g of protein. Here at Myprotein, our bars will typically provide around double that!

How can I get enough protein without eating meat?

There are plenty of non-meat sources to choose from! Dairy can be a great help as it's a complete protein (animal source) without necessarily having to deal with the ethical side of meat intake. Aside from that, there is a range of vegan/ other vegetarian options to choose from, including nuts, beans and legumes, vegetables and grains. We have a range of non-meat/animal-sourced snacks to choose from that are equally nutritious and delicious!
